Amber Elle Turner is a graduate of Drexel University with a BA in Communications on the Global Journalism track. She has written for newspapers, magazines, and online publications. She has also served as an editor and copyeditor of newspapers and literary anthologies.
Amber was the recipient of the 2005 Kathleen Collins Roberts Memorial Scholarship for excellence in writing and received a certificate in writing and publishing in journalism. She has been published twice in Drexel University's literary anthology, The 33rd, and one of those pieces was used as a teaching aide in the college's freshman writing program.
In 2009, Amber created Simply Burlesque as her Communications senior project while attending Drexel. She began digging into the history of the art and decided to write a book about the classic and neo-burlesque scene.
She now owns and operates her own freelance writing business, ALT Creative Communications. The business provides public relations, business, and marketing materials to:
- burlesque artists
- drag performers
- fringe festival acts and venues
- actors
- comics
- indie musicians
- writers
- models
- and pageant contestants
